ABTSound provides technical support for education and training

"Playing for Success" in the North East of England
with Middlesbrough FC
When the manager of the Playing for Success Study Support Centre at the Riverside Stadium of Middlesbrough Football Club approached us with his ideas for putting the WOW! factor into their learning activities for young children, ABTSound was happy to assist by building them a fully working Radio Studio to form the heart of their new initiative - "Radio Riverside", where the young students would become news-reporters and radio presenters interviewing their football idols.
and Durham County Cricket club
The idea caught on and we were next approached by their neighbouring centre, up the road at Durham County Cricket Club, to see if we could put the whole thing on wheels, as they did not have exclusive use of the studio area they wanted! This was a radio comentary position overlooking the pitch, which is taken over by the professional broadcasters on test match days! With help of a local joinery firm, a very neat compromise solution was developed.

ABTSound planned the studio, supervised building works and installed a fully digital sound desk with associated equipment.
The studio not only provides facilities for the training of regular broadcasters, in production and presentation, but also enables newcomers to get a feel for the medium. It can be used for telephone interviews and ISDN connections to the major broadcasters as well as fully digital recording and editing, CD production and programme building using CDs, minidisks and PC-based audio sources. Audio editing uses . The facility has already been used extensively by the BBC for network and local broadcasts.
Warrington Campus of Chester University - Media (Radio Production)
At the Warrington Campus we initially installed a networked audio training system in the Radio Production department, consisting of a set of audio workstations linked to "live-assist" software installed on playout computers in the training studio.
As the highly regarded radio production courses expanded, we were pleased to be involved in the planning and installation of a second suite of workstations linked to re-modelled dual studios, featuring a full range of facilities for "manual", "live assist" and "fully automated" radio programme production training. As part of their course work the students produce and originate regular weekly programmes on a local commercial radio station using these facilities as well as running a round the clock campus radio station (1251kHz mf.).
Course Leader David Grimshaw ...
... "Ever since we moved to digital, we have found ABT to be an excellent source of supply and advice on all aspects of our radio operations. They have a good understanding of the sometimes conflicting requirements of broadcasting and education. We are very pleased with the work they've done for us and have no hesitation in recommending them."
